Published Date: 17 August 2008
1pm, August 17: Huntingdon gymnast Louis Smith has become the first ever British man to win an Olympic gymnastics medal.
The 19-year-old gymnast produced a near faultless performance on the pommel horse, performing sixth and his score of 15.725 put him in the silver medal position with two gymnasts still to go.

However, the final performer equalled his score and took the silver medal position on a technicality.
