This weekend Ramsey will go back in time to World War II as the town once again celebrates its famous and award-winning 1940's Weekend.
During Saturday and Sunday (August 16-17) between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors will get a taste of what life was like during the era.
The event, which won a Huntingdonshire Association for Tourism annual HAT award, is held over two days at RAF Upwood. It features a mixture of nostalgia, living history and fun activities as the weekend recreates the sights, sounds, dance and music of the 1940s.

While the younger members of the family enjoy a ride on a real tank or learning how to jitterbug, mum and dad can enjoy sitting back and listening to live swing music or just sitting back and soaking up the atmosphere.

There's even a real taste of the Forties – try one of the exhibitors offering food from the period, including homemade cakes and Spam sandwiches.
There is also a strong educational theme to the show and this year also sees a first for Ramsey as the people from the National Codes Centre at Bletchley Park bring their display on the Enigma codes of the Second World War, including an actual Enigma machine.

As well as the people of the 40s, the weekend will also put the spotlight on the machines that made the age iconic. While there will be the chance to be taken for a ride in a tank, there will also be jeeps, armoured cars, motorbikes and classic cars on display.

Cast your eyes to the heavens and you'll see a flypast by the Lancaster bomber and Hurricane of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Other flying exhibits will also be featured during the course of the weekend.

Tickets are on sale for the famous Hangar Dance with live music from the Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band, Lola L'Amour and Paul Harper. The fun kicks off at 7.30pm on Saturday night and tickets are £12.50 and available from Brian and Christine Cunningham, Bodsey House, Bodsey Toll Road, Ramsey, PE26 2XH, or Carousel, 24a and 24b Great Whyte, Ramsey, PE26 1HA. Make cheques payable to 'The 40s Committee'. Tickets are limited, so get in fast.

There will be trade stands, dancing, living history displays, licensed bar, vintage vehicles, vintage clothing fashion show, fair, and drumhead service on Sunday.

The town centre will be having a best dressed shop competition, special dancing displays, farmers market and a vintage bus service linking the town with RAF Upwood. The George Hotel in the town centre will also be putting on a special 1940s menu.
