Wonderful images from home and abroad will be on view this week in St Ives – and you can vote for the best on show.
Members of the St Ives Photographic Club are staging their popular annual exhibition on Saturday (November 1).
The event is being held at the Free Church, Market Hill, from 10am until 4pm.
Mayor of St Ives Cllr Ian Dobson will be officially opening the event at 10.30am.
The exhibition consists of more than 200 printed images and many more projected slides and digital images which will be shown throughout the day on two large screens.
All the work on view has been done by local photographers and club members over the past year or so.
Many of the images have also won competitions both internally and externally.
Entry to the exhibition is free and there will be an opportunity for visitors to vote for their best image on the day.
The winning image of last year's public vote was the picture above. Entitled Pico, the picture shows a rescued chimp in Africa that had been kept in a cage for nine years and was unable to walk on all fours.
Club member Mike Stephenson, who took the photo, said: "This image captured the shy but very human nature of Pico.
"The club is always looking for new members and this event has proved to be very popular in the past with the public."
>> St Ives Photographic Club meets every Tuesday between September and April in the Free Church, St Ives, between 8pm and 10pm.
More details about the club will be available at the exhibition, or email info@stives-photo club.org.uk
