October 10, 5.10pm: Thieves escaped with thousands of pounds worth of golfing equipment after driving a car into Hemingford Abbots Golf Club's pro-shop.
The Direct Golf pro-shop, based at the golf complex in Cambridge Road, Huntingdon, suffered extensive damage following the incident which happened at about 5am this morning.

In what appears to be a carefully crafted attack, a brand new stolen car was used to smash through the front of the building, ripping safety shutters apart and tearing away the underside of the car.

Despite a state of the art security system at the golf shop, the thieves completed their raid in a matter of minutes, and were nowhere to be seen by the time the emergency services arrived.

Shop owner Teresa Neeson said: "It's amazing that they managed to break in and get away so quickly because of the security we have here. They have obviously been here before and knew exactly what they wanted, because they only had a window of about four minutes to get in and out.

"It was a planned attack and they were not your average local burglars".

>> Police are investigating the incident.
