Successful events have been held across the St Neots area for Not in my Neighbourhood Week.
Community issues and crime fighting activities were discussed with residents, while officers gave information on how to sign up to e-cops - the police email update scheme - and promoted neighbourhood panel meetings.

A warden from Luminus joined Huntingdonshire District Council's streetscene officers to discuss environmental concerns and the fire service signed up residents for home fire safety checks.

The Bobby Scheme and PCSOs visited seven elderly burglary victims and a sheltered housing complex.

SmartWater kits, which have their own DNA-like code, were delivered to schools. Recovered property marked with SmartWater can be reunited with its owner. Talks were given at six schools throughout the week.

Licensing checks were carried out with the district council and businesses were given security advice during visits by the crime reduction manager, a PCSO and a local security company.

Inspector Mark Woolner said: "A lot of activity has taken place with local agencies and hopefully this will make a real difference.

"We are pleased that so many shoppers and residents came out to support the events."

Other activity included:
The DVLA clamped and seized four vehicles for tax offences
Six endorsable Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) given for using a mobile whilst driving
One endorsable FPN for no insurance
10 FPNs for no seatbelt
One FPN for expired MOT
One other vehicle offence
Five notices handed to drivers to rectify vehicle faults - four of these were for excessive windscreen tint

Trading Standards activity included:
One trader who was given advice about out-of-date legislation
One trader reported to Huntingdonshire District Council for not having a trade waste licence
Four legitimate traders were spoken to and were pleased with the activity
One offence was revealed where a businessman failed to notify a customer of a 'seven day cooling off period' for a purchase
Four 'No Cold Calling Zones' patrolled, signs checked and some will now be replaced
