Villagers in Little Paxton are organising a Village History Weekend later this year and need help from local residents.
Members of Little Paxton parish church are busy gathering information and artefacts regarding the history of Little Paxton to stage the event on October 18 and 19.

Displays will feature archaeology finds from the Paxton Pits area, parish register and census information, domestic implements and appliances, school history, the famous cricket bat factory that supplied Len Hutton and much more.

The weekend is in aid of an ambitious project to make various improvements to St James' Church, including rehanging of the bells so they can be regularly rung again after more than 100 years of silence.

Call Leslie Tennant on 01480 212601 who would be pleased to hear from anyone who has any information or artefacts which may be of interest.
