In spite of the rain and a change of venue, more than 300 entries in 71 classes were judged at the St Neots and District Garden Club's flower show on Saturday.
The 39th annual show was held at Little Paxton village hall instead of the usual venue at the Bargroves Centre in Cromwell Road, St Neots.
Club chairman Peter Walker said the district club's committee had been concerned that the sudden change of venue would deter people from participating.

However, the committee was pleased to declare the show a resounding success. A steady stream of visitors had arrived at the show throughout the afternoon to view the fine displays of flowers, fruit, vegetables, cookery and handicrafts.

Mr Walker said: "The number of children's entries was particularly pleasing, largely due to gardener Mary Evans who liaised with local schools with gardens and the community allotment that Mary manages."
Awards and trophies were presented by club president Judith Addington.
