New shop targeted by thieves

Thieves smashed into a newly opened shop in St Neots stealing a laptop and various items from the shelves.
After breaking into a back window at Party Jacks in New Road, burglars also made off with a novelty wooden spoon and lighter, as well as electrical equipment which had been hidden in a back room.
Owner of the shop Yvonne Tudor said: "I'm absolutely gutted, especially as we've only been here for a couple of weeks. I just wasn't expecting it, but when I came into the shop on Monday morning the back window had been smashed in."
Yvonne contacted the police, who carried out a search of the premises and discovered a glove print on one of the shop's doors.
The 36-year-old added: "I think the break in must have taken place sometime between lunchtime on Sunday (August 17), when my partner was in the shop, and Monday morning when I came into work.
"It's a real pain because as well as missing out on half a days business, we have also lost a lot of important information for the business which was stored on the lap top - and now we have to start again from scratch."
