The Environment Agency is inviting people who live and work in St Neots to a public exhibition to see an artist's impressions of how the flood defence scheme will look once completed.

The exhibition, which will take place in the Riverside car park on Saturday 29 November between 10am and 2pm, will give those living and working in the local area the opportunity to meet the team who will be managing the construction site when the work begins in February 2009.

Huntingdonshire District Council agreed last week to planning permission for the £1.5 million scheme, which will protect 115 homes and businesses in the area.

Claire Jouvray, project manager, said: "The exhibition will give people the chance to find out more information about the design and construction of the scheme.

"It has taken a significant amount of hard work to get this far and we are delighted to finally get to this phase of the process.

"I hope people who live and work in the area will take the opportunity to come along and meet members of the team who will be on the ground during the construction and ask any questions they may have."

The scheme is due to be completed in early July 2009.
